AWOL

After a protracted absence in which I was working (and then sleeping) like a mad thing I thought that Mrs Fashion's return to the blogosphere should alert you to something rather fash-fabulous (after all I've had enquiries after my health and other bloggers actually discussing my lack of posts!) so here follows the news of nothing less than a fashion revolution.

The new way to carry your handbag, as seen at Dries and on a very chic woman exiting Whole Foods last Saturday morning is tucked under your arm, as if you were carrying a small pug. The Wag crook-of-arm-carry is as outdated as an It bag and although this new way of toting your tote is as practical as suede shoes in a rain shower, I do see it being adopted asap. Come Christmas I hope to be posing with this Chanel sac:

Dear readers,
You would also do well to note that the Spring / Summer season is always decried as a short season. Magazine staff finish the shows in Mid-October and work out their titles' key trends by the start of November. In reality, stories begin to be shot at the end of November and then continue through 'til early February (when the Autumn collections are shown. Again).

Therefore the window in which to fill six months-worth of fashion pages is just under three months long, taking Christmas and Thanksgiving into account. What with all the trips to sunny climes required to make the lighter-weight clothes look desirable, it's an incredibly busy season and absolutely knackers us!

In comparision, Autumn stories are usually shot from just after Easter through to the start of August - a massive four-and-a-bit month window (this is before the fash pack decamp to the South of France for their hols for a month). As we can also shoot a few stories in the UK (the cold weather clothes suit our cold weather climate) there is less travel and more time. My frazzled state and lack of posts should make a bit more sense now.
